Platte Valley Corn Whiskey – 750ml

Platte Valley is said to have been in production for 25 years according to various reports. It is labeled as a 100% corn whiskey aged for 3 years, which has inspired us to categorize it as a bourbon even though it doesn’t strictly qualify we don’t know why but suspect the barrels used to age it are not 3 new oak. More importantly, it presents in a ceramic/earthenware medicine jar style bottle that looks truly pioneer on the shelf. Simple nose that is slightly yeasty, which leads to a palate that has touches of vanilla; the finish is short and clean. This 100% straight corn whiskey comes in a traditional earthenware jug and is made by McCormick. McCormick Distilling Company was founded in 1856 as Holladay Distillery by Ben Holladay.
